Description
Give your horse a break from dodging tumbleweeds, and stop by the Wild West Saloon for a much needed drink. Just look for the cactus out front with a longhorn skull over the door! After settling in, order something from the Saloon’s beverage selection then hang out with other cowboys in the lantern light. If it suits you, walk up to the balcony to bathe in the setting sun while the pianist plays your favorite tunes. Now that you and your horse are well-rested, get back on the road and continue your adventure into the Wild West.
Judge’s comments
An unmistakable symbol of the old west, this saloon has everything one would expect – from the siding on the exterior to the furniture on the inside – it all fits the theme to a tee.
Designer’s notes
Some things to look out for are: 1) The front of the Saloon with different textures and an angled entrance section. 2) Exterior details such as tumbleweed, a longhorn skull and a cactus to get the Western mood. 3) Complete interior with many brick-build furniture elements (chairs, table, bar, piano, stove, curtains, saloon doors and a chandelier). Design inspiration
Western was on my to-build list for a while. I liked the challenge of building a model with a complex wall design, but at the same time, keep it sturdy and allow for a detailed interior. Also LEGO® never got around to designing proper Western Sets, so I decided to submit my own design to the program so fans can finally have a chance to get a Western model to start their own Western town.
